Under the weather
And under another gun
Things will never change
Me and my daughter
Running our morning errands
Learning how to be
Need one day a week
When I only do the things
That give more than take
On the black belt team
They are proud and excited
I’m still on the road
Another long flight
To a place I’ve never been
A glamorous life
Making it happen
When the odds are against you
A leadership test
Kid beats me at cards
Even when I own the game

They will push and pull
Trying to get you to move
But you must step up
Pack for going home
A finite number of things
All in their own place
Don’t feel well again
The head is pounding and the
Stomach is upset
Run in the morning
Or run in the afternoon?
It makes a difference
Miss a single day
And it will remind you just
How broken you are
Up way too early
On the road to catch a plane
Roll with all the punches
Fantastic ideas
Not enough time or money
Must seek compromise
Despite what you think
The job is not easy and
I do it quite well
Give them permission
To strategize and direct
Only way to grow
Can only prepare
So much. Eventually
You have to wing it
Another Monday
Another long week to start
One more race to run
It starts to make sense
When you stop to write it down
And say it out loud
Some people wonder
And some people don’t. Decide
What kind you will be
Never a reason
To let anger consume you
Enjoy the challenge
Please keep pushing us
But realize the more you push
The more we push back
Think before you act
Is good advice, but also
Learn before you think

You add complexity to

Need to stay focused
On the things that matter most
Delegate all else
It’s not always clear
But you’re actually quite
Good at what you do
Embrace your habits
Those that support and destroy
They’re what make you you
When I’m on the road
It is both easier and
Harder to focus
When a deadline looms
What always seems to distract
Must be neglected
All the time I spend
It is all wasted effort
If you don’t listen
You must keep moving
Or you’ll surely fall behind
But don’t move too fast
